VENTURI APPARATUS
|
For demonstrating Bernoullis principle that any restriction in fluid flow results in increased speed and decreased pressure.
Comprised of borosilicate glass tube 18cm (7in) long and 18mm ( 3/4in) in diameter with a constriction in the centre and three vertical openings in different sections. Includes three glass manometer tubes and rubber connecting tubes for measuring pressure at three locations. Ends are flared.
Note: Venturi tubes of other dimensions and specific wall thickness can be supplied.

HOOKE'S LAW APPARATUS
|
For proving Hookes Law of Elasticity, i.e. that elongation of an object is directly proportional to the load applied and demonstrating the phenomenon of simple harmonic motion of a vibrating weight, potential energy etc.
Consists of an adjustable mirrored scale 15cm long, graduated in millimeters, mounted on a support rod 30cm long fitted on a base. A hook attached to the rod supports a spring and indicator. Provided with a 50g brass hanger. Required slotted weights can be ordered separately.

SPRINGS, EXTENSION STEEL
|
For demonstration of Hookes Law and use with Hookes Law Apparatus.
Closely wound springs of diameter 6mm with loops at both ends. Made of 26SWG wire. Average extension for a 250g load are indicated below. Springs with specific enlongations can also be supplied.

PLUMB BOB
|
Made from hexagonal steel rod by carefully machine turning to a sharpened point. Dimensions are approx. (l x d), 85 x 20mm (3 1/3 x 25/32in) and weight approx. 140g (5oz). Provided with a screwed end cap with a hole to receive a cord.

FORCE TABLE
|
For performing static force experiments in mechanics such as studying the condition of static equilibrium of a rigid body under the action of forces in a common plane i.e. for the verification of the laws of composition and resolution of forces. Can also be turned into a teaching spectrometer by using appropriate collimator assembly, telescope and a support for prism and grating.
Comprised of an accurately machined aluminum table 40cm in diameter graduated in 360ß on its rim. Mounted on a heavy vertical support rod and tripod base fitted with levelling screws. Body under study is a ring in the centre of the table fastened by strings passing over four low friction pulleys attached with the table. Provided with four weight hangers of 50g each and four sets of brass slotted weights (each set consists of the masses: 2 x 10g, 2 x 20g, 4 x 50g, 4 x 100g).
